Foreign citizens who have arrived to the Russian Federation with e-visas can visit one of the regions only through the state border crossing points the list of which is approved by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Electronic visa to Russia is:

- Convenient. There is no need to waste your free time or working hours to visit the consular agency during its business hours. The website works 24/7.
- Free. You do not need to pay for anything to obtain an e-visa.
E-visa characteristics of and conditions for issuing an e-visa
E-visa is a single-entry visa and issued for 60 calendar days from the date of its issuance. The permitted stay in the Russian Federation with an e-visa is up to 16 days starting from the date of entry, within its validity period. E-visa validity and/or the permitted stay under it cannot be extended.
You can fill in an application form for an e-visa on this website not earlier than 40 days and no later than 4 days before the intended date of entry into the Russian Federation.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 ноябрьs from the date you applied for an e-visa. Your passport must have free space for border crossing stamps.
E-visas can be of the following categories only:
- ordinary business visa (purpose of journey is business),
- ordinary tourist visa (purpose of journey is tourism),
- ordinary humanitarian visa (purposes of journey are sports, cultural, scientific and technological ties).
Foreign citizens should leave the territory of the Russian Federation only through checkpoints of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation which they entered.

E-visa to Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region
Starting from October 1, 2019, nationals of 55 foreign States may be granted an e-visa to enter the Russian Federation through air, naval, automobile, and pedestrian checkpoints located in the territory of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
PLEASE NOTE: Entry and exit on an e-visa by means of rail transport is currently unavailable.

- By car/bus: Ivangorod, Torfyanovka, Brusnitchnoe, Svetogorsk
- On foot: Ivangorod (Checkpoint between Russia and Estonia)

- Rail transport: St. Petersburg-Finlyandskiy
E-visa to Kaliningrad region
Starting from July 1, 2019, nationals of 55 foreign States may be granted an e-visa to enter the Russian Federation through the border crossing points, located in the territory of the Kaliningrad region.
